July 1994 - Establishing of MIDOR.

July 1996 - Selection of the general contractor.

January 1997 - EGPC took control of MIDOR's project.

February 1997 - Receipt of the refinery’s site from the Public Free Zone in Alexandria.

June 1997 - Signing of the license agreements with UOP and Conoco-Bechtel, followed by the signing of the engineering, procurement and construction EPC contract with TTIL.

March 1998 - Contract signing with MIDELEC to secure the refinery’s supply with electricity.

February 1999 - Contract signing with MIDWATER to secure the refinery’s supply with water.

October 2000 - Mechanical completion of the project according to budget and time schedule and receipt of first crude oil shipment at the refinery.

February 2001 - First Diesel shipment was pumped into the local market.

April 2001 - MIDOR celebrated its first Gasoil shipment which was exported through the port facility.

March 2002 - Midor was listed in Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange.

August 2002 - Refinery’s test run and achieving of contracted performance guarantees.

September 2003 - Final acceptance of the project 

December 2008 - Reaching the highest refining capacity exceeding the design capacity.

December 2008 - Achieving the highest net profit of US$ 326.66 Million since commissioning.

August 2009 - Applying Risk-Based Inspection system (RBI) for all operation units.

December 2009 - Start of implementation of the Oracle BusinessSuite (eBS) set of programs
